Chris' Corner: Google Chrome is #1 in the World! What Browser do you use?

Google Chrome is #1 in the World! What Browser do you use?

What browser do you use?  Since the inception of Google Chrome, it has quickly risen in popularity and has now reached #1 worldwide!
During the seven day period May 14th to 20th, Google Chrome reached Number 1! With IE in #2, and Firefox in #3.
In North America, IE was still #1 with Chrome in #2, and Firefox in #3.
I personally use Firefox Mozilla for Active Rain, Facebook and news, preferring IE for general web searches, accessing my Real Estate Board, and Banking (an almost 50-50 split).  I have tried Google Chrome on occasion, but probably prefer Safari to Goggle Chrome at the present time.  It seems that, statistically, I am in the minority.
Which is your favourite browser?

Hi Chris,

I use Interner explorer a lot. i don't really use any other.

Can you tell me the difference?.... Don't they all go (or take you) to the same place?

Have a good evening in South Simcoe.

Chris - I am still a die-hard IE user but Barrie uses Firefox, Chrome and IE ..... in looking at our stats he tells me (from the stats from one of our sites) IE is still the number one choice of our web site users at just over 43% while Chrome is way down there around 6.5%.

The numbers below are from one of our other sites and in looking across the board these numbers do not change a lot and the order remains the same with a few additional ones, like blackberry and opera, showing up on the different sites

  • #1/  IE - 42.63
  • #2/  Safari 28.1%
  • #3/  Firefox - 15.06%
  • #4/  Chrome - 8.19%
  • #5/  Adroid Browser - 3.27%

Very interesting responses from our AR users...

Three people indicate they use Chrome primarily, Evelyn, Wanda and Wallace.

Kathy and Clint have indicated they use IE primarily,

and if I am reading the comments correctly,

Al and peggy, Barrie (Kathy's husband), Dale and I primarily use Mozilla.

Now Barrie's analysis of website users is interesting,

  • #1/  IE - 42.63
  • #2/  Safari 28.1%
  • #3/  Firefox - 15.06%
  • #4/  Chrome - 8.19%
  • #5/  Adroid Browser - 3.27%

Which prompted me to look at Google Analytics:

  • #1 IE 59.66%
  • #2 Firefox 15.1%
  • #3 Safari 12.58%
  • #4 Chrome 10.23%
  • #5 Android Browser 1.14%

I think knowledge of the browsers people are using to access one's website could be important, if one were to know what it means.

I use firefox.  It seems that IE is automatically installed in most new computers here and most people prob. just use it and don't think abt it.  I used to use IE but AR doesn't seem to work well on it.

Chris - not all web sites are compatible with all browsers a good example is AR itself as many feel it works best with Firefox ..... With IE installed in most computers the average person looking at our web sites is likely using IE ..... for sure the highest percentage is using it as seen in both our analytics results.
