Simcoe County Blue Box Program (Paper/Paper Fibres)

Simcoe County has a two-stream Blue Box Program.  Containers are to be sorted and placed in a Blue Box and Paper/Paper Fibres are to be placed in a separate Gray Box or Blue Box.


Acceptable Containers for the Blue/Gray Box for "Paper/Paper Fibres" are:

 

 

 

Paper Fibres:

Corrugated Cardboard Boxes

  • Max 3 Bundles (30" x 30" 8") beside bin
  • Flatten and tie into bundles

Boxboard

  • Cereal Boxes
  • Cracker & Shoe Boxes
  • Paper Egg Cartons
  • Tissue Boxes
  • Toilet Paper & Towel Tubes

Paper

  • Catelogues
  • Coloured & White Paper
  • Computer Paper
  • Books (remove hard cover)
  • Magazines
  • Mail & Envelopes
  • Newspaper and Inserts

Shredded Paper

  • Place beside your grey or blue bin in clear plastic bags

To reduce blowing litter, stack recycling bins.


Do NOT Include:

  • Paper Towels
  • Soiled Paper
  • Tissues
  • Waxed Cardboard
  • Waxed or Foil Coated Paper

It makes sense to do a better job of handling our recyclables Chris. This multiple blue box plan will make the job a lot easier, and it's really not complicated at all. Every bit will help.

I would have thought that paper towels would be a natural for recycling.
