Chris - some local residents here including ourselves use, or used to use, cardboard boxes (ones we carried our groceries home from the store in) for our recycles ..... now the town has stopped that because some people were mixing garbage with the recycles in the cardboard boxes.
Two stream re-cycling? Something new again Chris! Our recycle guy is very picky about not taking those styrofoam containers.
Hi Chris - Until the last few years, Toronto had two stream recycling as well with gray and blue boxes. Now the recycling is placed in those large blue bins.
Kathy, sorting is a very important part of recycling. That said, we need to do whatever we can to encourage re-using also.
Al and Peggy, we have received a number of sticky notes telling us that we are not recycling properly. But we are getting better over time =)
Marc, you have the numbers to allow sortation on site. I saw a video on Toronto City waste management. It was very impressive.
