Chris' Corner: Simcoe County Blue Box Program Expanding

Simcoe County Blue Box Program Expanding

Simcoe County "Blue Box" program on is expanding as residents have started to receive their new 83L recycling boxes.  Distribution should continue for the next month.

Sorting is still key to an effective recycling program, and paper products should be in a separate container.

New Items now accepted are rigid plastic household containers and lids marked "1" and "7", plastic clamshell packaging (often used in baked goods and produce), clean plastic pots and trays, small yoghurt and pudding cups and take-out coffee lids.

Being "Green" has never been easier in Simcoe County.

Hi Chris - Toronto began to accept plastic clamshells in January 2012.  This is very good for Torontonians since it had to previously go into their garbage bins which are only collected every two weeks and do not have a lot of space in them.

It's interesting that all of our neighborhoods here are required to recycle using the provided containers, but businesses are not.
