Chris' Corner: March has come in like a Lion!!

March has come in like a Lion!!

March has roared in like a lion in New Tecumseth, a wind storm caused some minor damage and power outages over the weekend and brought with it some might cold weather, perhaps the coldest yet of this winter.

This two / two and a half day mini freeze has brought lows in the -20C range (feeling even colder in the shade with the wind), but it will not last.  Typical of weather in our region, the weather forecasters are calling for highs of 10C to 13C over the next few days.

We are leaving for a March break vacation on Friday stopping for a day in Corning, NY before planning to arrive in Hershey, PA on Saturday.  The long range forecast for the region we are visiting is temperatures in the 50's (F) next week.  Helen arranges the itinerary, but I know she has mentioned Gettysburg, a Science Centre, Intercourse (home of one Amish community in Lancaster Cty), and, oh, something about a chocolate factory...

The minds of the Smith household are far from work this week as we count down the days.

Hope all of you have a happy and productive week =)

Most of my Canadian winter vacation clients say it has been a mild winter so far.  Guess this is the start of the real winter in Canada.

Edward and Celia, overall this has been the mildest winter in years... perhaps 3 short coldspells in our area.  NO!  It is not the start, Winter is OVER!!

Sounds like a perfect week Chris, especially the chocolate factory! And you are right this is NOT the beginning of winter, we are already thinking SUMMER!

Hi Chris - It was still too cold today during our very short extremly cold cold snap to state that winter is over.  In a couple of days, hopefully, our unusually mild and minimal snowfall winter will be over.

Have a great March Break vacation.

Hi Chris.

Good to see "someone" gets to go on vacation. For me  I have not had a day off work for two years.

Time to take some time off and relax.

Best, Clint McKie
