Family Day 2012 in Alliston

Monday February 20th, 2012 is family day in Ontario, and a full day of activity is being scheduled in Alliston.

Fun will get underway at 9:00 a.m. a the New Tecumseth Recreation Complex.
Shinny games will be played on both rinks and a Family Skate will be held from noon to 3:00 p.m.

A "tot lot" will be open at the Fieldhouse from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

The walking track will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

A family soccer game will be held from noon to 1:30 p.m.

A full schedule of shinny times for each age group at each of the facilities is available online.

The cost for events at New Tecumseth's Recreation facilities is $2.00 for adults and $1.00 for children aged four to seventeen.

Another option is the Museum on the Boyne, 250 Fletcher Cres., Alliston. Open from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., activities will include museum tours, butter making, pioneer toys, and an artifact scavenger hunt. Admission is $2.00 for adults and $3.00 for children.

Don't forget about Breakfast from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and dinner from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Mike's Family Restaurant. All proceeds will be donated to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Laura, our provincial government set up family day about three years ago, and it has taken a few years for us to learn how to spend the day as a family.  Talking to my friends, more of them are doing family things tomorrow.
