Chris' Corner: Deadwood - imho Television worth watching!

Deadwood - imho Television worth watching!

DEADWOOD - imho, Television worth watching.

Set in the Black Hills of Deadwood, South Dakota, this award-winning HBO series featured many historical figures among its ensemble cast such as Seth Bullock, Al Swearengen, Wild Bill Hickok, Sol Star, Calamity Jane, Wyatt Earp, George Crook, E.B. Farnum, Charlie Utter, and George Hearst.  Visit legends of America to learn more about the many historical characters who appeared in this series.

The riveting plot manages to include many historical facts and weaves them into 36 entertaining episodes over three seasons.

It must be noted that this is a mature television show filled with profanity, and off-colour references.  That said, it is also riveting entertainment.  These last two video clips, though thoroughly entertaining, are much harsher and include profanity and many references that would be deemed offensive to many.

You can watch this series in re-runs, on DVD and Blu-Ray, and on the Internet.

Good Morning Chris, as you know, we don't have TV and therefore missed Deadwood.  Your last video was more than profanity, it was real blue.... When are we going to have lunch.

Hi Chris, It is great when a tv series includes both historical figures and historical facts in television shows!  I didn't know about this show until today.  Enjoy your day!

Chris, i have never heard of this show before, but anything with Ian Mcshane in it should definitely be worth watching. I remember him in the series "Lovejoy" which I never failed to watch in the late 80's or early 90's.

Al and Peggy, the series pushes baundaries, but was riveting.  The characters are complex and the tension was palpable.  I would recommend this series with the one proviso, it is definitely "adult" television.

Malcolm, his character heree, Swearengen, is very different than the role he played in Lovejoy, the characters make this series... I would be interested to see what you think of the series... it is adult-themed.

Keith, when the series aired, the overwhelming comment was how realistically they portrayed the western town.
