The village of Beeton, originally named Clarksville, will be celebrating it's 125th Anniversary next weekend, Saturday August 20th, 2011 and Sunday August 21st.
A full weekend of family friendly activities (most of them centered around the Beeton Fairgrounds include:

- Meet Your Neighbour Annual Picnic
- Church Service

Brian, these events are a lot of fun and is part of the reason I love living in a small town (OK, just outside of a small town)
Malcolm, The name was changed after the first commercial Bee Colonies in Ontario were started in the 1870's. It was originally our Beeton bees, split and moved to Georgian Bay (in an attempt to protect them from the elements) that caused another small community to be renamed "Honey Harbour"
