Chris' Corner: Canadian Tire's House of Innovation

Canadian Tire's House of Innovation

Canadian Tire Corporation launched an new website on June 2nd, 2011. CTC's House of Innovation is an interesting concept and worth the look.

Canadian Tire bought a home and has started to renovate and do other home projects using innovative and green products that it carries. Each Project comes complete with a video and instructions for the home handyman.

What I like about the website is that it takes products and puts them in a home (or car) and shows you the utility of a product and how simple to install and/or use the product. One featured product that I am a big fan of it Item 23 in the Outdoor Section, a compact wall-mounted clothesline. Another good item is the "smart smoke detector" Idea 10

If you live in Canada, check out Canadian Tire's House of Innovation and find out about some innovative green home improvement ideas or about some neat new toys =)

There's nothing better smelling than freshly laundered sheets hung to dry on a clothesline Chris. It sounds like a great site!

Hi Chris - I don't think I have ever visited Canadian Tire's website but perhaps I will one day.  We can spend a lot of time in their immense stores.

Al and Peggy, I like CTC's House of Innovation, it is a great font of information for a "duffer" like me.

Wanda, we try to use a clothesline as much as possbile.

Marc, we should support Canadian enterprises and buy Canadian products when pragmatic.

Chris, this is a great idea from Canadian Tire. It's so much easier when we can watch a video of how things are done. I'm not the world's handiest man, so this will be a useful site for me. Thanks for bringing it to our attention.
