Chris' Corner: Pay It Forward at Tim Horton's in Tottenham =)

Pay It Forward at Tim Horton's in Tottenham =)

Wednesday May 18th started out like most days in the last week, gray sky and raining...

It was promising to be a busy day and I had to get started early.  I decided to stop at Tim Horton's in Tottenham and get breakfast at the drive-thru.  I wanted the Sausage Biscuit, but opted for the healthier Homestyle Oatmeal and milk (my first good choice of the day ;-)

I drove up to the window to pay and asked what was the bill for the Pick up truck behind me, and was told $5.72.  I told the lady to add it to mine and received my change, got my breakfast to go and headed off to my office for breakfast.

I am not sure what the reaction was from the person in the truck behind me was, I hope my action put a smile on their face... but my little act of generosity had the effect of picking me up on what was a lethargic day up to this point.

At the office, I had to make a number of calls, and one of my clients even noted the cheerfulness in my voice.  I never told them why, that was not the point...

As the day has progressed, the "pick-me-up" has faded, the monotonous gray sky is getting to me... perhaps time for another good deed =)

That was very nice. I often ask the person behind me at a Shoppers Drug Mart if they have an Optimum card. It reaklly seems tio make their day.

However, other than a good feeling, I never got anything back.

Chris, I'm sure your kind act did put a smile on someone's face today. It had never occured to me to pay for someone else's order in a drive through before, but now you have lodged an idea in my head.

LOL, oh I so do remember the Tim Hortons when living in Kingston, Ont. so very good. What a nice person you are to buy for the truck behind you, you are a good friend and realtor.

Brian, some times the good feeling is enough =)

Malcolm, I do not do it everytime, but once in a while... it can make my day and perhaps someone elses...

Thank you David... Timmies can be addictive...

Good morning, Chris. I can relate to the gray skies. They have been looming over head for the past week. Ready for some sunshine...

This is the kind of examples I like reading about in the PIF group.

Personal examples of extending kindness to others, not just a suggestion for everyone else to follow.

Thanks so much for the post.

You've just made a deposit into your account at the Bank of Kharma!

Michael, finally... first time we have seen sun in a week =)

Ralph, thank you for your very nice receipt, it was nothing big really, and the feeling the little act generated far outweighed any real benefit confered...
